The Security Systems and Alarms Inspection Board (SSAIB) is a totally independent inspectorate body open to all alarm companies who can meet their stringent membership requirements. The requirements cover not only installation techniques, but also callout procedures, administrative procedures and a consideration of recent Company accounts to ensure a sound financial base.

After the initial “gruelling” investigation if a company is accepted, they are then placed on the roll of the SSAIB as an approved company. The Company is then required to issue an SSAIB Certificate of Conformity to clients stating compliance to PD6662/EN50131 which will, in many cases, result in a discount on their insurance premiums. It also allows them to connect Police Response Systems as under the Association of Chief Police Officers (ACPO) regulations only enrolled companies of an approved inspection board are accepted.

Having achieved enrolment these companies are then subjected to regular inspections by SSAIB inspectors to ensure both administrative and installation procedures are being complied with fully.

Oakpark Dorset is proud to be an SSAIB member.

F.I.A. Fire Industry Association

The FIA is a ‘not for profit’ trade association with the aim of promoting the professional status of the UK Fire Safety Authority. This is done by liaison with Government and official bodies, as well as other key organisations in the industry.

As members of the FIA, Oakpark are kept informed about the latest and developing legislation and its effects on the fire alarm market.

Membership of the FIA gives Oakpark access to relevant training as well as technical advice. An important requirement of FIA membership is to operate best practice for the installation and maintenance of fire alarms. Oakpark’s accreditation under BAFE fully meets this FIA criteria.

BAFE is supported by Statutory bodies, the Fire and Rescue Services, Insurers and leading Certification and Trade Bodies.
